Tamar Segev is a visual artist from Boston, MA. She received her BA in Studio Art from Carleton College and is currently living in Champaign, Illinois, where she is an MFA candidate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her work explores connections between familial memory, historical narratives, and contemporary culture, as they are embedded in specific sites and surfaces of architecture. Her mark-making, through painting, drawing, carving, and stitching, is a physical act of remembrance, an effort to both penetrate and preserve memory.
